My Bike Repair

Ride me. Fix me. Love me.

My Bike Repair is a project in the Wastesmiths CIC family of projects, focused on keeping bicycles in active use for longer. So doing or teaching bike repairs is part of that, and the other part is encouraging people to ride!

My Bike Repair works in two areas, it is working to establish a Mile Cross Community Cycle Hub in the neighbourhood of Mile Cross, and it works in partnership with SYEP to deliver a youth bike club in the neighbourhood of Sprowston. So it’s fair to say that My Bike Repair is geographically focused on north Norwich. It doesn’t currently have a base, focusing on popping up in locations or working with partners at their venues.

Attending a Dr Bike

We are honoured that Dan from Wastesmiths was recently interviewed by Cycling UK about what Dr Bikes are all about.

Mile Cross Dr Bike

Our pop-up spot at Mile Cross Gardens is on the Aylsham Road next to Losinga Crescent. We’ll be offering basic bike repairs, bike checks and advice to get your wheels rolling.

There’s no booking necessary, simply drop in between 10am and 1pm. We offer this service on a first come first served basis so getting there early is recommended.

Bring your bike, whatever condition it’s in. Repairs and basic spares are free… anything more complicated we can discuss how best to fix it before carrying out any work. We will take an email address and name from you in exchange for the repair which will be used to communicate to the charity funding the sessions that we fixed your bike… nothing more than that.

So whether your bike needs some basic tweaks, a flat tyre fixing or some more complicated repairs on its brakes and gears, bring it down

SYEP Bike Club

A safe space for young people between 11 – 18 years to explore dirt jumping and bike fixing, in partnership with Sprowston Youth Engagement Project. Based at The Urban Adventure on Church Lane, the club has a dedicated space where young people are free to build jumps, supported by trained youth workers.
