WE WEAR THE TROUSERS
About Us
We’re a grassroots fashion collective exploring ways to participate in fashion by enjoying the clothes we already have.
We believe that the most sustainable garment is the one that already exists, and we aim to empower people to keep our collective fashion & clothing resources in use, whether through mending, swapping, sharing or re-wearing.
We organise community events, workshops, sharing networks and more across Norfolk- join the movement and become a Fashion Citizen!
What we do
We Care & Repair

Mend With Friends
Mend With Friends is a regular mending social where we gather together to mend our clothes, and to share our mending skills and stories with one another, in a relaxed environment. These are not taught mending workshops, but there will usually be someone on-hand to share their skills with you. Even if you have never picked up a needle and thread before, we’d love you to come along and learn from the community!
To find out more about Mend With Friends, find a Mend With Friends group near you, or ask about setting one up in your area, visit our Mend With Friends webpage.
Mending Workshops
We run beginner-friendly visible mending workshops for groups or organisations quite regularly. You can see details of any upcoming mending workshops via the ‘Events and Workshops’ tab at the top of the webpage. If you are interested in booking us to run a mending workshop for your group or organisation, please get in touch!
We Swap & Share

Walk-In Wardrobe
The Walk-In-Wardrobe is a pop-up clothes swap! Bring along your unloved clothes to donate to the Wardrobe and for each item you bring, you receive one point, which you can swap for a different item from the wardrobe.
The Walk-In Wardrobe pops up in Norwich every other month at our Swap & Sewcial event. For more details about how it works, and what items we do or don’t accept and why, visit our Walk-In Wardrobe webpage.
We Engage & Educate

The Alternative Fashion School
The Alternative Fashion School (TAFS) was founded in November 2023 as a programme of DIY, grassroots fashion education. We organise a range of activities and events, including our monthly Hand-Sewing Clothes Sewcial, the Radical Fashion Learning Circle, and a varied programme of workshops where folks can learn new skills and experience fashion in different ways.
To find out more, and sign up for upcoming events and workshops, visit The Alternative Fashion School page.
Trashion Studio
Trashion studio is a conceptual fashion studio which explores ways to create fashion using the most abundantly available materials: ‘waste & weeds’. We run an experimental programme of ‘Fashion Playdates’ and we make and sell upcycled products to help raise funds to support our other work.
